Few words but many thoughts..
Science is unpredictable

Today in lab we finally blew up our polyurea coated tubes. By blow up i mean, we ignited a combustible mixture (ethylene - oxygen)  and transitioned it to a detonation inside a thick tube, so when the detonation front arrived at the boundary between the coated tube and the thick tube, the detonation was already precipitating pressures up to 10 MPa (98 atm). So i repeat, we finally blew up our tubes. Our results?  well.. science is unpredictable.

In the case of our initial pressure of 2 bar, the polyurea coated tubes actually decreased strain by 25%! (Yay, our method for mitigating deformation worked). Surprisingly, the test with the polyurea coated tubes at initial pressure of 3 bar INCREASED strain by about 20%! (in some areas) Tomorrow we will measure the actual diameter of the tube and check if there was an overall increase in strain. I love science. ( dont laugh, im nerdy )
